Python Job: Analytics Manager

Westcon-Comstor is looking for an Analytics Manager to join our Global Data & Analytics Team. The D&A team is split into three workstreams (Create/Connect/Consume) supported by several functional groups including data engineering, advanced analytics, data governance, visualization and business intelligence/IT. We are a business team driving analytics within our organization.

As an Analytics Manager, you will drive projects working with a cross-functional team of developers, analysts and data scientists. Project scope may include data-integration, building business logic into human-usable data models, supporting self-service for data governance and migrating to a cloud data architecture.

This role is hybrid so you will need to come to our Madrid office 2-3 days a week. You must have a good level of English. Please apply using a CV in English.

What You'll Do -
Partner with PMs, designers, engineers, and data scientists to define and implement a data architecture that will support our many uses, including analyses, experimentation, machine learning, visualization and feeding data back into applications

Become an expert in our stack, which includes Denodo, MS SQL, Azure SQL, Dynamics, Power BI and Alteryx among others. Drive the vision for unifying these tools into a single seamless analytics environment.

The Advanced Analytics team will focus on the curation of domain-specific effective and performant data assets to empower Data Scientists and analytical users and to accelerate the path to growth across the organization.

Architect the virtual data warehouse modelling layer to empower analytics, apps consumption and data governance and establish the patterns and processes which will serve as the foundation for scaling our data.

Transform, test and deploy clean and performant tables and views for analysis.

Contribute to the adoption of best practices across all reporting and analysis: data integrity, code review and validation, and documentation

Apply software engineering best practices (version control, continuous integration, etc) to the analytics code base.

Develop a deep understanding of various data sources and become a SME in knowing which data sources are best suited to solving particular business problems

Identify gaps in our data processes and collaborate with applications, BI and data & analytics teams to iterate and improve current methodologies.

Build out experimentation datasets and pipelines to allow for ML, granular analysis, A/B tests, etc.

Partner with analytics teams to build out data models to be used in predictive/prescriptive/ML model development and deployment

Build out methodologies to evaluate analytics performance and adoption.

Flag potential data quality issues to relevant teams in data & analytics, MDM, BI and applications teams.

About You:

Requirements
Core Competencies and Technical Skills -
BA/BS from a leading undergraduate institution with a major in Economics, Analytics, Business or other quantitative focus

4+ years of total work experience in BI, analytics consulting, or technology related field; ideally work experience supporting a range of projects supporting business stakeholders

3+ years of professional experience with data transformation using SQL in a big data environment: writing SQL statements, data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines

1+ years of experience in a people and project management role

Superb communication skills, particularly in communicating technical information with non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have -

• Experience working with Azure
• Familiarity with one scripting language (Python, R, or equivalent)
• Experience with BI tools, such as PowerBI (preferred), Tableau
• Knowledge of data governance and data related regulatory requirements
